30-Day Song Challenge Day 4: A Song That Reminds You Of Someone You Would Rather Forgot

Music is one of the most personal things about a person. The songs someone listens to can tell you a lot about them. I’ve always thought these daily song challenges were interesting but an Instagram post on some of my favorite songs feels insufficient. So I’m writing about them instead. Thank you for reading.

This song has 570 million Spotify streams. None of them are mine, however. I remember when this song was new on the radio and it was not my bag. That was even before I met this person.

I dated this girl around 2010 who loved Owl City and we were listening to this song in her car and in between telling me how great it was, she would tell me how weird she thought my music was weird. Just great stuff. Anyway, this was one of many reasons this was a bad relationship.

Based on the Spotify numbers, you probably like this song and that’s fine. But this is a hard pass for me.
